When I first came across this story I thought it was click bait and fake... Unfortunately I was wrong! The BBC is reporting that suspected Russian Hackers could have messages from around 120 Million accounts. They're threatening to post the messages unless users pay a ransom of 10 cents per account.  So far 81,000 accounts have been said to have messages for sale.

Facebook says that they were not hacked that the information was stolen through "malicious browser extensions." Basically users gave over their information without realizing it because no one reads the fine print. While it's probably a good idea to change your passwords regularly if you're included in the hack they already have all your messages.

Luckily for us it appears the majority of the accounts hacked are from Russia but it does include many Americans as well. Security experts do not believe the hack is related in anyway with the Kremlin.
