First Daughter Malia Obama Sees One Direction Live

The Obamas have eclectic pop taste! Just days before taking in Beyonce at her Memorial Day weekend shows in Atlantic City, first daughter Malia and a Secret Service escort were spotted watching One Direction in Virginia.

Idolator reports that 13-year-old Malia and her security detail watched the U.K. heartthrobs on Thursday night, with Malia cheering, clapping and singing along. Too cute! Her Secret Service agent, however, looks a little less thrilled to be there, but that may be because of the inevitable ringing in his ears after the show from all the screaming tweens.

It was ostensibly Malia’s first time seeing the band live, as 1D had to reject an offer from her mama, First Lady Michelle Obama, to perform at the White House. After their performance at the Kids’ Choice Awards, the adorable ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ singers were forced to decline an invitation to perform at the White House Easter Egg Roll because of their tour commitments in Australia.

We think this was a good way to compensate — but where was Sasha?! Maybe she’s just a bigger fan of namesake Sasha Fierce than One Direction.
