Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams has promoted five police officers, after the city council approved a resolution authorizing the promotions.

Family members and department personnel attended a ceremony this morning at the Bossier City Public Safety Training Center on Shed Road to celebrate with these officers:

Patrick Chambers, who's been with the force since 1989, has been promoted to captain and is assigned to the criminal investigations division.

Thomas Souter has been with the department since 1992, and is now a captain. He's assigned as commander of criminal investigations.

Gary Aguirre was promoted to captain. He's been with the department since 1993 and is assigned as commander of internal affairs.

Alvin Eagle, who's been on the force since 1994, is now a lieutenant. He's with the patrol division.

Charles Bridges has been promoted to sergeant. He's been a member of the department since 2002 and is assigned to the patrol division.
