A flamingo at Brazil's Sorocaba Zoo is unlike most flamingos you've seen.

This bird received a seven-inch long prosthetic leg made by an orthopedist after its real one was amputated in an effort to stave off an infection that developed when the animal suffered a broken leg.

The flamingo limps with its new appendage, but zoo officials claim it can already stand on one foot while tucking its other one under in the classic pose made by the birds.

Zoo veterinarian Andre Costa says, "The flamingo is slowly getting physically rehabilitated with the muscles in the legs getting stronger so it can join the group."
