It was enough of a DC miracle that Supergirl succeeded in bringing over The Flash for a “Worlds Finest” crossover, that we’d forgive some slightly wonky timing between the two series. Now, weeks after Barry and Kara became super-best friends over ice cream, a new preview for next week’s “Versus Zoom” sheds some light on how Barry ended up in the Supergirl universe.

Where Barry seemingly burst out of nowhere in National City to rescue CBS’ Supergirl from a fall back in March, The CW Flash is finally catching up in next week’s “Versus Zoom,” according to the episode’s preview comic. See, the March 29 “Flash Back” saw Barry reluctantly seeking aid from the Reverse-Flash to increase his speed in the battle against Zoom, the result of which only now produces the same tachyon device Barry was seen sporting in his Supergirl appearance.

It’s possible we’re even looking at the moment his departure in the below preview from “Versus Zoom,” but one imagines Barry wouldn’t vanish from the episode for long:

In the meantime, so reads the “Versus Zoom” synopsis:

BARRY IS READY TO FACE ZOOM; HUNTER ZOLOMAN’S STORY IS REVEALED

Equipped with the tachyon device, Barry (Grant Gustin) believes he is fast enough to stop Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) and wants to open the breaches to catch him. Harry (Tom Cavanagh) strongly advises against that plan but after Barry convinces him, Harry reveals that Cisco (Carlos Valdes) has the power to re-open the breach. Meanwhile, Hunter Zoloman’s (Teddy Sears) painful story on Earth-2 is revealed.

There’s always the chance for a different Kara to pop up on The Flash, as well the likelihood that the DC heroes could meet up again next season, but in the meantime, check out more from “Versus Zoom” below, and stay tuned for more Flash.
