Hundreds of people turned out for the 20th annual Cross Lake Floatilla on Saturday, June 4th. I don't think I have ever seen more boats on the lake for the floatilla than I saw this year.

The day's activities included a charity poker run; a decorated hat contest; a 50-50 cash drawing; the decorated boat competition; and some fantastic plate lunch dinners as well as several cash bars.

Louisiana Crossroads rocked the lake for four hours, from 2 until 6, and in the photo that accompanies this post you will see -- from left to right -- the boys and a girl your mama warned you about. Starting from the left, there's the brainchild behind Louisiana Crossroads, John "Blinddog" Kavanaugh. He put this group together in 2002 and they've been rocking venues throughout the Ark-La-Tex ever since. Next is Chip "Lightnin' Boy" Goodwin, the lovely Marie Romano, Tony "Tony D" Ditcharo, and John "Big John" Chapman. What you don't see is Mark "The Hammer" Brinkley pounding away on the drums behind Marie and Tony.

Another fantastic day on the lake -- even though it was darn hot!
