Florida Woman Swallows Diamond at Charity Event

Did they even think about the problem with this promotional idea?  The Tampa Women's Club held a charity event and they had quite a prize.....a  one-carat, $5,000 diamond. So here's what they did.

They put cubic zirconia stones in the bottom of 399 champagne glasses and in the 400th glass they put in the actual diamond.  All of the stones were donated by a wholesale diamond company. They sold each glass to patrons for $20.

The Tampa Bay News reports there was a big problem. Eighty-year-old Miriam Tucker accidentally swallowed the real diamond. Luckily Tucker was already scheduled for a colonoscopy, so she had a doctor recover the jewel.
