Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin arrived at federal prison in  Texarkana,Texas on Monday (9-8) at noon to start his 10 year sentence on corruption charges.

Nagin will be living at a satellite camp facility, which has the lowest-level security in the federal system. Generally it's reserved for white collar criminals doing 10 years or less who are non-violent.

The facility in Texas has 300 inmates, including Lou Pearlman, the former producer of boy bands like N-Sync and the Backstreet Boys. Former LSU great Billy Cannon also served jail time for his involvement in a counterfeiting scheme.

Judge Ginger Berrigan recommended that Nagin serve his time at the federal prison camp in Oakdale, Louisiana. But the Bureau of Prisons prefers to locate inmates closer to their family, which in this case is Frisco, Texas.
