Funeral Arrangements Made for Shreveport’s Elizabeth Joyce

Funeral services and visitation hours have been set for friends and family of Elizabeth Joyce.

Joyce, a Shreveport attorney, advocate and author, and wife of local author William Joyce, died yesterday after a long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. She was 55.

In a statement released through Moonbot Studios, her husband Bill and son Jack Joyce wrote: "She was sharp as a tack and witty to the end. She never hesitated to help people who were at the most desperate edges of poverty. And she did so with genuine grit, grace and determination."

Visitation will be held Friday, January 22, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home on Southern Avenue. Joyce's funeral is Saturday, January 23, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church on Common Street.
