'Game of Thrones' Angela Lansbury Season 7 Rumor Debunked

Murder, she wrote, but not in Westeros. Despite a widely-circulating Game of Thrones rumor suggesting the revered Angela Lansbury would appear in in Season 7 of the HBO fantasy drama, consider the cameo officially debunked.

Entertainment Weekly had the honor of debunking the rumor once and for all with Lansbury’s team, following its emergence at a German website for tabloid newspaper Bild. As tends to be the case with Game of Thrones castings, no concrete information was provided on the “minor” two-episode role.

Elsewhere of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7, a list of directors for the year has been announced, along with rumors of some major set pieces, while at least a portion of filming will take place in Iceland. Harry Potter star Jim Broadbent has been confirmed for a “significant” role, but as you’d imagine, without any confirmed details.
