You may know me as the guy on the radio, but my official title at Townsquare Media Shreveport is "Creative Services Director." What that means is that all of the advertising that is played across six radio stations is under my creative control. Whether I'm producing commercials myself or quality checking, what we call, agency spots, I've had my hands on nearly every commercial that you hear on our radio stations.

I've always loved commercials. You get to tell a complete story in thirty or sixty seconds. Sometimes it's challenging, but an effective commercial not only sells the product or service intended, but it gets stuck in your head. You will sing that jingle or quote that line for the rest of your life.

I've made a list of some of my favorite slogans, ads, and jingles from local advertisers past and present. How many do you remember?

    Bobby L. Greene Plumbing

Who could forget this gem? When this commercial first came out, I sung the jingle for days. And the floating dog gets me EVERY TIME!

    Reeves Marine

Reeves Marine was in business for a long time, but sadly closed it's doors a couple years back. Their jingle, however, lives on. All you have to do is sing, "See Rodney, see Rusty..." and someone around you will finish it.

    Jimmy Granger Used Cars

Ask anybody where a "cool place to buy a car" is, and they'll tell you Jimmy Granger Used Cars. Jimmy's daughter has been the spokesperson for the dealership for years. Of course...now she's a teenager so it isn't nearly as cool for her as it used to be (teenagers, huh?), but at least the slogan has stuck.

    Boothill Speedway

Ask anyone in the local area where is the place to go if you wanna race...and they will tell you one answer...

If you wanna race...THE HILL'S THE PLACE!

    Diesel Driving Academy

Now you know...this list would NOT be complete without one of the best know jingles ever to hit the Shreveport area. It's not just a jingle...it's a 30 second song that everyone in the SBC knows and can sing every word to. Come on!

"When you can drive a truck..."
