Happy 36th Birthday Kenny Wayne Shepherd

On the radio Erin and I always celebrate the Shreveport / Bossier guys (and gals) who make it big and today marks the birthday of one who's made it the biggest: Legendary blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

The self taught guitarist was introduced to music by his deejay dad, Ken, at the age of seven and the rest, as the cliche goes, is highly successful history.

At the age of 13 he was invited onstage to play with blues legend Bryan Lee and later that same year was signed to his first record deal. Since then, he's had ten top 10 singles, five Grammy nominations and two Blues Music Awards.

In 2006 Shepherd married Hannah Gibson, the daughter of actor Mel Gibson. They have three daughters.
