Happy Birthday to the United States Marines

The United States Marine Corps celebrated its 238th birthday on Nov. 10, 2013. Oorah!

I could not be more proud of this branch of the Armed Forces now that I have watched my oldest son go through boot camp and join the ranks of the few and the proud.

Although he is stationed in Hawaii, he talks to me often about his own pride. He asks questions about my father, who served as a Marine in WWII. He has changed so much and it is all good. He's more of a man than I could ever have imagined.

He still loves his family and still has his gentle heart. But I know, in a pinch, he would be able to take care of himself, no matter what.
