Over the past few days Just east of Mexico City, the Popocatepetl volcano has erupted once again, this time with a cloud of vapor and ash 2 miles high.

The national center for Disaster Prevention in Mexico has raised the volcano alert to Stage 3 Yellow, the highest level before a Red Alert which is when people will be evacuated. The video shows up close footage of the Popocatepetl volcano.

Residents are urged to take preventive measures to deal with the ash, including wearing dust masks, covering water supplies and staying indoors as needed by the Environment Ministry.
