My football picking skills are getting pretty look. Last week, I was 11-2, bringing me to 51-9 on the year. After the games this week...things are looking better.

Now we can bump my overall record to 62-10 after a slate of games this week including the Parkway win over Southwood Thursday night and the Green Oaks drubbing of Red River also on Thursday. My only wrong pick was in the Woodlawn-Northwood game.

The big game this week was Byrd hosting Haughton at Lee Hedges. This game started out with loads of offense and then chugged along for the Jackets who took an easy victory to open district play and stay undefeated. Byrd battles another undefeated new district foe in Parkway next week.

North Webster hosted Calvary . This was an easy win for the Cavs, as I expected. Northwood stayed home to take on Woodlawn. I thought things would get back on track for the Falcons. That didn't happen. Woodlawn came in ready to play and pummelled Northwood 46-7. No surprise as Evangel opened district 2A play with a 70-0 drubbing of BTW.
Natchitoches Central came to town to take on North Desoto. The Griffins couldn't hang with the Chiefs as I expected.

Fair Park was on the road at Minden and it was a bit of a game, but as expected, Minden gets the win....20-12. Shreve opened District play against Airline at the Vikings Stadium. Shreve falls to 3-3 in the loss to the Vikings.....35-25.

Bossier had little trouble beating Block and moves to 5-1. Loyola was on the road in Lake Charles to battle Sam Houston. Loyola is coming off 3 straight losses, but got things back on track with a big road win.
The Benton Tigers battled Huntington at Independence Stadium to play Huntington. Benton gets the win 28-8.
