Orange shirts took over the Veterans Transitional Living Facility Nov. 10, as more than 100 Team Depot volunteers participated in Veterans Day projects, including landscaping, painting and building renovations.

This effort in Shreveport is a part of The Home Depot’s fifth-annual Celebration of Service campaign, during which Team Depot volunteers put their talents to work to transform more than 1,000 homes for veterans across the country from Sept. 11 to Veterans Day.

The Veterans Transitional Living Facility, owned by Volunteers of America North Louisiana, is a 56-bed facility, located on the corner of Jordan Street and Highland Street that provides the basics of shelter, food and supportive services to help veterans transition from being without a home into independent living.

Volunteer projects throughout the day included:
General clean-up and remodeling of the laundry room
Making landscaping improvements
Screening in the patio area
