Before you jump into a swimming pool this July 4th have you ever wondered how much Urine is in the Average Swimming Pool? The number might surprise you! Scientists used a chemical called acesulfame-K (ACE) which is a chemical that will tell them how much urine is in the water.

CBS News reports that their research showed a 220,000 gallon pool which is a third the size of an olympic swimming pool has on average 20 gallons of Urine and a pool of 110,000 gallons has on average 8 gallons of urine.

Out of all the pools tested ACE detected pee in every single one of them! So in other words don't drink the water at your swimming pool this summer..
