According to NBC News, the sexual harassment claims became open to the public after Susan Fowler published a blog titled "Reflecting On One Very, Very Strange Year At Uber". In her blog she talked about how she was propositioned for sex on her first day at work and held back from advancements. She also included that Uber's human resources department would ignore her sexual harassment claims she and other female employees filed.

This has caused Uber to take notice. According to NBC News, Uber's Chief Executive Travis Kalanick informed employees that Uber has hired Eric Holder to conduct an "independent review into the specific issues relating to the workplace environment raised by Susan Fowler, as well as diversity and inclusion at Uber more broadly."

So what does this mean for Shreveport getting Uber?

With the company hiring Eric Holder we can expect a better form of Uber when the it becomes effective in our area. Back when Eric Holder was hired on the help Airbnb with a similar problem, he helped create anti-discrimination policies. Based on his role at Airbnb, we can expect a better Uber by the time it is in Shreveport.
