Hurricane Isaac made landfall in Plaquemines Parish in Louisiana located 90 miles southeast of New Orleans.

Forecasters predict it will bring up to 20 inches of rain in some areas with the possibility of power outages.

No evacuation order has been issued in New Orleans so many residents chose to stay. As Isaac struck Louisiana Tuesday night, most businesses were closing, but some remained open in the French Quarter.

As Isaac was arriving exactly on the seventh anniversary of Katrina, others in low-lying Louisiana parishes evacuated and moved to higher ground.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal called out Armed National Guard troops to patrol New Orleans streets and to stand guard at the Superdome.
