Lawmakers are wrestling with a long list of tax increases and budget cuts to deal with a deficit of 900 million dollars this fiscal year.

Governor John Bel Edwards is fighting to keep TOPS payments for students. He's also hoping to avoid massive cuts to higher ed. But earlier this month, Edwards' chief budget architect, Jay Dardenne says universities will probably have to cut $130 million if lawmakers don't agree to raise money to stave off those cuts.

 

Some University leaders say this would force them to close. We want to know if it comes to that, what you think.
