Landing a job fresh out of college is tough. It's better, but still no guarantee. Tom Hanson, a recruiting consultant with the Eastman Group, says "So we're looking at probably about a 13% increase in hiring of new grads for companies within the three months." Hanson says it won't be easy though. "Out of 300,000 jobs that are going to be opening in the next three months, abut 15% of those are going to be entry level positions."

So what fields offer the most opportunity to new grads? Hanson says healthcare and engineering are always ripe with opportunity, as is anything in IT. Those hoping to break into the oil and gas industry, on the other hand, are going to need patience. Investment banker, actuary, pharmaceutical rep, financial analyst, internet marketer, and network systems administrator all hold promise for young grads to find work as well.
