Come join the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier as they take to the streets to raise money for JLSB local projects, benefiting the community in Shreveport-Bossier.

What a great way to exercise and raise money for a great cause...all at one time! The JLSB presents their annual Running for a Cause: 5K & 1/2 Mile Fun Run set to take place on Saturday, April 30 in the historic Broadmoor and South Highlands area in Shreveport, beginning and ending at Marilynn's Place on Fern Avenue

This fundraising event will be fun for all ages with a 1/2 mile Fun Run for the younger runners and a 3.1 mile 5K for the more experienced athletes. Registration is just $25 for the 5K and the Fun Run is FREE!

Running for a Cause benefits the JLSB’s local projects such as:

  • Kids in the Kitchen, an educational health program to prevent childhood obesity
  • Between the Lines, a literacy program strengthening bonds between incarcerated parents and their children
  • Super Safety Saturday, an annual community safety fair held at Sheriff's Safety Town

JLSB President, Lila Knicely says,

"It’s exciting to be able to invite the community to be a part in our mission. The League serves as an integral part in serving families in the Shreveport-Bossier area, and fundraisers such as the 5K help us to share the organization’s impact while allowing the community to get involved in our mission.”
