So, I'm at lunch with my brother and some other friends today, and the topic of The History Channel's hit series 'The Bible' comes up. And, of course, you can't talk about 'The Bible' without bringing up the latest controversy du jour, the similarities between the devil and President Barack Obama.

'Wait a second,' my brother says, 'What're you talking about?' What? Hasn't everybody heard?

After getting a ton of press for the facial similarities between Satan and President Obama, the  people behind the History Channel’s mini-series ‘The Bible’ deny any purposeful likeness between the leader of the free world and the Prince of Darkness.

 Here's their official statement:

'History Channel has the highest respect for President Obama. The series was produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors. It’s unfortunate that anyone made this false connection.

The show's producers have nothing but respect and love our President, who is a fellow Christian. False statements such as these are just designed as a foolish distraction to try and discredit the beauty of the story of ‘The Bible.’

'The Bible', which can be seen Sunday nights on The History Channel, is a five part mini-series, and will conclude on Easter night.
