Fourteen years after their much-publicized split, Justin Timberlake is still crying a salty river of tears over Britney Spears.

In the latest issue of Vanity Fair Italia, the "Can't Stop the Feeling" singer brought up his 2002 breakup from the pop superstar when answering a question as to whether it was true that artists create their best art when they are "depressed and a little tormented."

Timberlake cited the "suffering" (insert eye-roll here) he endured following his split from Spears and how it helped him to write his solo breakthrough hit, "Cry Me a River."

"Depends. In the past, suffering has helped me compose songs. 'Cry Me a River' was written in a time of pain, like everyone knows..." he said, referencing his 2002 revenge breakup anthem, the video for which notably and savagely features a Spears look-a-like.

However, this is hardly the first time Timberlake has brought up his and the "Make Me" singer's failed relationship during press — from Barbara Walters interviews to GQ cover stories — and it probably won't be his last, according to fed-up fans on Twitter.

On Friday, frustration with Timberlake's apparent lack of chill and class peaked on the social media site when #JTExposedParty began trending, thanks in part to a very thorough BuzzFeed exposé on the matter.

"When you realize that [Justin Timberlake] threw two women under the bus to have a career," wrote one Twitter user, referencing both Timberlake's inability to move on from name-dropping Spears, as well as his lack of accountability over his involvement in Janet Jackson's infamous — and infamously overblown — 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance wardrobe malfunction.

And truly, they make a valid a point. See more tweets from other party-goers, below:
