She wasn't able to be there in person, as she's due to give birth to her second child soon, but the original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, still contributed to the TV singing competition's series finale on Thursday night (April 7). During a pre-taped performance, the singer performed a medley of her biggest hits.

Clarkson, who won the first season of Idol in 2002, showed off the numerous hits she's scored throughout the past nearly 15 years during her performance. "Miss Independent," “Breakaway,” “Since U Been Gone,” “Because of You” and “Stronger” all earned a spot in her medley, as did "My Life Would Suck Without You,” “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” “Heartbeat Song” and “Invincible.” Of course, Clarkson closed her run of hits with “A Moment Like This,” her very first single following her Idol win. The star recently became the first American Idol contestant to earn 100 Billboard 100 No. 1 songs.

Clarkson's performance was filmed during her visit to American Idol earlier in the season, when she served as a guest judge and gave that heart-wrenching performance of "Piece By Piece." She earned a standing ovation from the judges and the crowd, who chanted “Kelly! Kelly! Kelly!” as Clarkson ended her performance after breaking down in tears.

“This is very memorable, me crying,” Clarkson joked after she finished singing.

In addition to Clarkson, the American Idol series finale included guest appearances by Carrie UnderwoodScotty McCreeryBucky Covington, Casey James, Josh Gracin, Kellie Pickler and Lauren Alaina, as well as a host of other former competitors from throughout the show’s 15 seasons.
