Kelly Clarkson is not only a phenomenal singer and performer, now fans can appreciate her in a new light as an author. The artist announced via Facebook that she will be releasing a children’s book titled River Rose and the Magical Lullaby, inspired by her daughter River Rose.

The “Piece by Piece” singer says the idea was born when Clarkson and River were traveling together for Clarkson’s performances, seeing incredible things that River would be too young to remember, so she started writing them down for her daughter.

“I started writing down these little fun stories, of like when we went to Australia and she got to hang out with some kangaroos, I just thought I’d write little cute stories for her and put little pictures with it,” Clarkson explains in the adorable video announcement. “These little stories ended up turning into a book for each place we went.”

Clarkson says she hopes the book will be not only fun, but an encouragement to other children as well.

“I guess my hope is for little kids to read River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and be inspired by it and know they can achieve anything and still dream big and make big things happen,” she says.

The video ends with a series of hilarious clips of Clarkson mock-complaining about her daughter’s diva tendencies on the set of the promo shoot, interspersed with footage of River Rose backstage.

“I don’t know where she gets it,” Clarkson remarks with a smirk after reprimanding a balloon for getting in her face.

Clarkson teased the book announcement with a series of fun posts to social media after the Super Bowl.

The singer is taking a break from the road as she is now expecting her second child — a boy — and has been experiencing a tough pregnancy. She is, however, planning on appearing on American Idol's final season, which she said she had to choose over the Grammys due to her schedule and tricky pregnancy.
