Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy Have Called it Quits Ahead of Series’ Return to Television

Publicity stunt or not, this split really cuts deep.

Who doesn't love the iconic Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy? The two may have had a tumultuous relationship, but we could always count on their love for one another.

Well, not anymore.

Miss Piggy tweeted that her relationship wit Kermit has been terminated.

The announcement came during the Television Critics Association summer press tour as the two were promoting their new show, ABC's The Muppets.

According to Kermit's friend, Gonzo, the frog is already on the prowl and immersing himself in the dating world. Gonzo said he is dating a pig named Denise who works in marketing for ABC.

As for Miss Piggy, she said dating her "is like flying close to the sun. It was inevitable that Kermit would drop down to the ground while I stayed in the heavens." Many sources have linked her to actor Topher Grace.

This is worse than when Ken and Barbie broke up.
