I try to keep up with Kevin Smith’s myriad film projects but it’s tough. I thought he was making Moose Jaws, a Canada-set horror film that’s supposedly like Jaws but with a moose, to complete the trilogy of horror comedies that started with Tusk and continued with Yoga Hosers. But Moose Jaws hasn’t materialized, nor has Clerks III or Mallrats 2, both of which have been discussed in the last couple years.

Supposedly Moose Jaws will be made after the project that replaced both the Clerks and Mallrats sequels, a Jay and Silent Bob reboot. But before any of that happens (if it happens), Smith is now shooting a totally different movie instead. My boochies are thoroughly snooched, and I feel like I need a nap.

Variety reports that Smith is down in Florida shooting a horror movie called Killroy Was Here Here’s how he described the project:

This is a monster movie in the sense of a classic morality tale. No one wants to see you spill the blood of innocents, but when someone crosses the line and goes bad, you get to make them pay in horrible ways, and the audience cheers. We wanted to make an anthology film in the vein of ‘Creepshow.’ Killroy is like the Golem, the Boogeyman and the Grim Reaper combined.

Smith also tweeted about the shoot:

The title comes from a phrase that became famous during World War II; it was often seen as graffiti sprayed on walls. As a child of the ’80s, I know it as the title of a Styx concept album, because I am a huge nerd. I can’t say I’ve been a huge fan of Smith’s horror movies (or that I’m dying for a Jay and Silent Bob reboot), but I remain a curious observer of the career of the man who made so many movies I loved as a teenager.
