Maybe Gene Simmons should have held his famously long tongue.

Pedophilia comments made by the KISS bassist about Michael Jackson back in 2009 have prompted promoters of an upcoming Jackson tribute show in Wales to drop Simmons’ band from the lineup.

Two years ago, Simmons was asked if he thought the King of Pop was guilty of sexually abusing children. His response included the following quote about Jackson: “There’s no question in my mind he molested those kids.”

That statement was not forgotten by Jackson’s fans, who used the Facebook page for Oct. 8′s ‘Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert’ to voice their disgust over KISS being part of the star-studded lineup (which also includes Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera).

Subsequently, event organizers issued the following statement to TMZ: “We have listened to Michael’s fans and are grateful to have been alerted to these unfortunate statements by Gene Simmons.  Under the circumstances we fully agree that even though KISS is a band Michael admired, we have no choice but to rescind our invitation to them to appear in our tribute concert.”
