Holy moly, would you look at that -- it's a boudin and cracklin king cake, easily the most Cajun food of all time.

First, here's where you get it -- Twin's Burgers and Sweets in Lafayette on Johnston Street. You can order them online at boudinlink.com, too.

Okay, so what is it?  It's a king cake, filled with boudin, drizzled with Steen's cane syrup and topped with cracklin crumbles. That. Is. Insane.

According to The Advertiser, the idea came from Robert Carriker, the man behind boudinlink.com and kingcaker.com He then went to Twin's Burgers to discuss a partnership, and voila -- it became a reality. It was literally invented last weekend:

The two worked together to perfect the recipe Saturday.

Twins will begin selling the king cake – which will formally be called The Boudin and Cracklin King Cake a la Boudinlink.com – to customers Tuesday. The boudin and cracklins used in the king cakes will be supplied by Earl's Cajun Market.

"We're excited to see where it goes," Earl's owner Timmy Comeaux said. "It should be a good collaboration."

The king cakes will cost $27.99 for a small, which feeds 8 to 10 people, and $46.96 for a large, which feeds 18 to 25 people. The king cakes are available beginning Tuesday at Twins and beginning Friday at Earl's. -- Daily Advertiser

Stay tuned -- we're working on getting one, and we'll taste-test it for you!  That's just the kind of people we are!
