I don't know about you, but I have a "pacifier baby". She LOVES her "binky" and we are coming up on the time to break her of the habit. But as we slowly ween her off the additional appendage, I learned that I should have been cleaning my daughter's pacifier by licking it clean.

Yes, LICKING IT!!!!

While the notion of licking your child's pacifier runs counter to everything that we have ever known about hygiene, according to a new study done in Sweden, counters everything thing that we have held true on the subject.  Believe it or not, your saliva is believed to help build up your child's immune system. So while you may find it gross and unsanitary, you could be helping your child build up their immunity to allergies, eczema and asthma.

So next time you run out of all the clean pacifiers that you brought with you, trying cleaning it by putting it in YOUR mouth. You could be helping your child in ways that you had no idea about.
