A home in the Haven Subdivision in Southeast Shreveport is damaged by a fire. Investigators believe lightning sparked the fire at the home on Hallette Drive near Captain Mary Miller Drive. No one was injured in the blaze.

The storm system roared through Friday night, knocking out power to more than 17,000 Swepco customers across Shreveport and Bossier and the Arklatex..

The AEP website shows most of the outages were in Louisiana, with scattered outages in Northeast Texas and SW Arkansas.

No word yet on how soon all of the power will be restored.

The storm brought high winds that knocked down some trees on power lines. Crews can't get up on the poles to make repairs until the threat of lightning subsides.
