Lindsay Lohan Says She Was Bullied as a Kid

Lindsay Lohan is such a willing target that picking on her these days almost seems like kicking a puppy (if the puppy had terrible judgment and a lengthy rap sheet).

But according to her, the “bullying” she endures from the press isn’t her first go-round with disparaging remarks — she allegedly dealt with the same thing when she was younger, too.

On Tuesday, Katie Couric’s new daytime talk show featured a segment about Whitney Kropp, the high school sophomore who recently made headlines when her fellow students voted her onto the school’s homecoming court as a nasty joke. And it seems that between court dates, Lohan had time to tune in.

Afterwards, the ‘Mean Girls’ star took to her Twitter account to reveal that she, too, had been bullied as a child. Addressing Couric directly, she began by saying, “I think what you did today on your show for Whitney Kropp was lovely. It had me crying. I’d love to meet her. #stopbullying”

In the series of tweets that followed, Lohan told her own story:

In speaking out against bullying, Lohan joins a long list of fellow celebs who’ve done the same including Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato and Justin Bieber. Normally we’d be all “atta girl,” but we’ve been down this road with LiLo before — should we feel sympathy, or should we blow it off as just another ploy for attention?

You decide.
