The political fur has been flying this week. We have been telling you about the decision by state Senator Greg Tarver to withdraw his support for Adrian Perkins in the Mayor's race.

Perkins did get some good news these week. He has won the endorsement of 3 Caddo Commissioners and 1 Shreveport City Council member. Lyndon B. Johnson, Jerald Bowman and Stormy Gage-Watts of the Caddo Commission say they are supporting Perkins. Each attended a media event on Wednesday. Shreveport Councilman Oliver Jenkins is also endorsing Perkins, but he tells KEEL News he is out of town this week. But Jenkins told me "I will be there in spirit to support Perkins."

Senator Tarver says he is no longer supporting Perkins. He told us "Perkins is not a a man of his word."  We asked Perkins for his response and he told me "I respect the Senator's decision not to support me. His opinion is his opinion. I'm still going to focus on the future of our city."
