Regardless of what you think about Cedric Glover and his politics, it is impossible to argue about the man's passion for Shreveport. The former Shreveport Mayor has a love that is unquestionable when it comes to his home town.

Even in the midst of a heated political season filled with battles over budgets, parity funding for hospitals, prayer in school, etc.., Cedric found a way to celebrate a local victory on the State House Floor.

Glover took a moment to gather all of the Northwest Louisiana delegation, Republicans and Democrats, on the House Floor to celebrate the Mudbugs winning the NAHL Championship. The group also took a moment to celebrate the hard work of team owner Tommy Scott and General Manager Scott Muscutt for breathing new life into the Hirsch and helping land the Miss USA pageant.

In addition to Glover's impassioned speech about the Bugs, he posted the following statement on Facebook:

Yesterday as the Shreveport Mudbugs were wrapping up their North American Hockey League Robertson Cup victory celebration and jersey auction, the entire Northwest Delegation of the Louisiana House of Representatives paused to honor and recognize Tommy Scott, Scott Muscutt and the entire Mudbugs organization for winning the NAHL championship in only their second season, reviving #TheHirsch Coliseum, keeping the promise of George’s Pond and returning the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants to Shreveport.

Kudos on a great start and prayers for an even brighter future

Whether you like the politics of people like Cedric Glover, Dodie Horton, Alan Seaubaugh (etc.) or not, you have to respect them for, at the very least, forcing Baton Rouge to pay attention to what's happening in our part of the state.
