Local Woman Accused Of Stealing Over $2K From Her Deceased Grandmother
A Shreveport woman was arrested by deputies for cashing social security checks that belonged to her deceased grandmother, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.Deloise M. Garner, 36, of the 700 block of Dalzell, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for forgery following an investigation by Sheriff’s Detective Frank Edmondson, of the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force.
Garner is accused of cashing three checks issued in the name of her grandmother, who has been deceased for about three months. The total amount of the checks was $2,022.
