Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain left this world in June of this year.  He left behind a legacy of food, travel, humor, and acceptance that I think the world would do well to remember him.  Luckily, the fine folks Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana agree with me.  Starting in the spring of 2019, students at Nicholls State will be able learn all about the life, travels, and exquisite taste of a man who dedicated his life to broadening our palettes, and our minds.

Although Bourdain was a world-renowned chef, but the class will focus on this work in television -  especially his Emmy winning show "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown," which still airs on CNN.  USA Today reports that "Anthony Bourdain and His Influencers" will offer students a 3 credit - course that will examine his most famous work on television and the films and literature that influenced him.  According to the head of the university's film department and instructor of the Bourdain-based course, Todd Kennedy, the already popular course will also be available to non-English majors as an elective.
