Get ready for another, and dare we say even better, year of Louisiana Film Prize! Will this be the year you take home $50,000?

The craziest film prize festival is back and lucky for us, it's right in our own back yard. Louisiana Film Prize 2015 kick off next Tuesday, January 13 at 7 p.m. at Artspace in downtown Shreveport. It's free to get in and open to the public.

This doesn't mean you have to have your film done. This is just a time for filmmakers to mingle with other filmmakers, actors, actresses, hair/makeup experts, etc. Connections will be made, friendships formed and thus amazing films will be created. The ceremonial bell will be rung and the drinks will flow.

It will be awesome.

If you're interested in making or being in a film, this is your opportunity to get in the game. Who knows, you may walk away with a decent portion of that 50K.

LAFP is one of the fastest growing non-profit competitions in Louisiana and quite possibly the state. The rules are simple... make a short film that is filmed in Northwest Louisiana. Boom! That's it.

People travel from all over the country to the SBC for a chance to win the money. Last year, LAFP received the most entries in their three years of operation at just over 100. And because the films have to be shot in Northwest Louisiana, money has been pouring into the SBC. Just how much? Well, let's just say it's around $5 million. Insane, right?

So come be a part of the craziness, the madness, and the magic. We'll see you at the LAFP kickoff on Tuesday, January 13 at 7 p.m. at Artspace.
