Be there for the announcement of the Top 20 films that will be shown at the Film Prize Fest this October.

Louisiana Film Prize is ready to announce their Top 20 short films. Of the 100+ films that have been submitted, only 20 will be shown at this year's festival which will be held October 1-4. This also means that one of the 20 filmmakers announced will walk away with $50,000.

The Top 20 announcement is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11 at Robinson Film Center at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early because space is limited.

Louisiana Film Prize began in Shreveport-Bossier in 2012 as a way to bring revenue to the area. Filmmakers from all across the country come to Northwest Louisiana to shoot a short film, in hopes of winning $50,000. The only rule is that the film must be shot in Northwest Louisiana. From there, the sky is the limit.

The winner is determined by YOU, the viewer. That's right! You watch all of the films at Film Prize Fest and then vote on your favorites.

So come catch the Film Prize fire!
