It's the final step before the Louisiana Film Prize Festival!

Louisiana Film Prize Festival is set to kick off on September 29 and run through October 1 in downtown Shreveport. The festival takes over Texas street for those days as locals and visitors take in the top 20 films submitted for this year's competition. More than 100 films were submitted from filmmakers across the country.

Now who will make the top 20?

Tuesday night (August 16) we will all find out! Louisiana Film Prize is hosting their annual Top 20 Announcement Party. This year's party will be held at the Robinson Film Center as they take over the entire top floor. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. and go until 9 p.m.

2016 is a special year for LAFP for a few reasons. One, this is the Prize's fifth year in Shreveport-Bossier. In those years, the Prize has brought in millions of dollars in economical impact to our area. This is accomplished by creating one simple rule; all films submitted must be shot in Northwest Louisiana. LAFP consistently has over 100 films submitted each year and the cast and crew of these films adds up financially. In celebration of year five, expect this party to be on fire!

This is also LAFP's first year to feature an added film. Gregory Kallenberg, the mastermind behind the Prize, has expanded the concept to Memphis. This year's inaugural Memphis Film Prize's winner will compete in the Louisiana Film Prize as a 21st film.

So celebrate Louisiana Film Prize and cheer on this year's top 20 films!
