One out of every eighty seven tweets in the state of Louisiana use derogatory or racist or sexist language according to a study by Abodo, a rental listing website. And that makes us the worst state in the union for "derogatory and prejudiced language" used on social media. The study analyzed language using a wide variety of demographics and came up with a list of 154 degrading words, then studied tweets from all the states to see how often those words were used. And in the Bayou State, we use them a lot. A LOT! Especially in referring to women, minorities, and overweight people. New Orleans was third in the nation for cities that used derogatory terms for African Americans and number one for sexist language. The states with the least amount of hateful words. Wyoming, Montana, and Vermont? We can do better than this. We really can.....
