Louisiana Man Is Cosmo’s Bachelor of the Year

A 25 year old Baton Rouge lawyer, Ryan Chenevert, has been selected as the winner of Cosmopolitan magazine's 2012 Bachelor of the Year Contest.

Ryan was announced as the winner at Cosmopolitan's 2012 Hottest Bachelor Party at the Copacabana nightclub in New York City earlier this week, beating out 51 other contestants. Ryan was one of the top 10 contestants by reader votes, and after a series of interviews and a variety of competitions, was ultimately chosen as the winner by a panel of Cosmo editors.

Ryan, a Baton Rouge native, graduated from Parkview Baptist High School, Louisiana State University and LSU Law School. His family still resides in Baton Rouge.

Ryan says his Mom is his number one fan and that he owes much of his success to her. "My whole family, especially my mom, has been absolutely wonderful -- so supportive and encouraging", Ryan said after being announced as the winner. "I'm ready to have a very fun and exciting year."

Ryan's list of prizes includes $10,000, a contract to appear as a spokesperson for Cosmo and a modeling contract.
