Louisianians, it's time to vote!

The Louisiana Presidential Primaries are taking place Saturday, March 5 and it's a good idea for you to get to the polls to cast your vote. Polls will open at 7 am and stay open until 8 pm. Remember that this is a closed primary and only those that are registered republicans and democrats are allowed to vote. According to Louisiana Radio Network, Secretary of State, Tom Schedler, is even reaching out to fellow Louisiana residents urging you to take advantage of your right to vote.

“We urge everyone to get out, study your ballot in anticipation because if you’re not a registered democrat or registered republican, you will not be allowed to vote.”

He also says the there is a new app for your smart phone called Geaux Vote that will allow you to see everything that will be on your ballot.

“It will give you exactly where your precinct is and it’ll show you exactly what your ballot looks like. So, if you’re not an “R” or a “D” and you don’t have anything else on the ballot, this election is one you can’t participate in.”
