Louisiana State Fair Closed Today Due To Inclement Weather

We just received word from the State Fair of Louisiana officials that Mother Nature has caused them to call off the fair for today, Wednesday, November 5th due to a forecast of inclement weather all day and night.

The State Fair of Louisiana and Crabtree Amusements have decided to honor the Half Price Wednesday promotion this Friday, November 7th. Friday, November 7th will be Half Price Friday at the State Fair. Parking and gate admission will be FREE from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Beginning at 3:00 PM, gate admission will be ½ price at $5 each. On Friday, carnival ride wristbands will be ½ price at $15 each from 12 Noon until closing time at 11:00 PM.

The State Fair of Louisiana will open tomorrow, Thursday, November 6th at 10:00 AM. This Thursday is Dollar Day at the State Fair. Parking and gate admission are FREE from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Beginning at 3:00 PM, parking and gate admission will be $1.00 each. Carnival rides will be $1.00 each from 12 Noon until close at 10:00 PM.

Concerts scheduled on the main stage this week are as follows:

• On Thursday, November 6th, Mademoiselle at 7:00pm, Shilo at 7:30pm and Bad Mamma Jamma at 8:00pm.
• On Friday, November 7th, Louisiana Swamp Donky plays at 8:30pm. Opening for Louisiana Swamp Donky is the Kelly Hobson Band at 6:30pm.
• On Saturday, November 8th, Dragstrip Phantoms performs at 3:00pm and 4:00pm.
• Saturday night at 8:30pm, Grammy Award Winner Wayne Toups performs.
• Opening for Wayne Toups is Cody Cook & Bayou Outlaws at 6:30pm.
• Sunday, November 9th, don't miss "Faith at the Fair" starting at 3pm; this event is presented by Cypress Baptist Church.
• Shreveport/ Bossier Mavericks Professional Basketball Game: The Mavericks will play the Colorado Kings on Saturday November 8th at 7:00pm in Hirsch Memorial Coliseum. The Mavericks are the ABA National Champions for 2014. Admission to the fair gets you into the basketball game for free!
• Military and Veterans Appreciation Day is this Sunday, November 9th. All Military and Veterans get into the Fair for free. At 2:00pm the State Fair will honor our military and veterans by hosting a parade and a special ceremony following the parade.
