Louisiana Tech Has Named Their Starting QB
So the name that will be written in for the staring QB slot for Louisiana Tech won't be who you would have thought at the start of Spring Practices.
A redshirt-Freshman will get the nod under center for the Bulldogs instead of slated starter Ryan Higgins. But this isn't based on performance, and might actually only last for a play, or a series. This is a punishment. Here are the details from the Louisiana Radio Network:
"Louisiana Tech Head Football Coach Skip Holtz said today that redshirt freshman J’mar Smith will start at quarterback when the Bulldogs visit Arkansas on Saturday. Smith was a three-star recruit coming out of Mississippi and he’s filling in for Ryan Higgins, who will not start, after he was arrested on D-W-I charge right before the start of preseason camp."
