Louisiana’s Own MacKenzie Bourg Makes It To The Top 8 On Final Season Of ‘American Idol’ [VIDEO]

Looks like there's a possibility that Louisiana could be the home state for the next 'American Idol' winner. Geaux MacKenzie!

Hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, MacKenzie Bourg once again took the stage on the final season of American Idol this week. Not only did he impress the judges (Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., who is also from Louisiana) but he moved on the Top 8 by totally rocking his version of Whitney's Houston's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody.'

I have to say that I've never heard that Grammy hit performed quite like that. Pretty awesome! You can catch MacKenzie again this Thursday, March 10, at 7 pm on Fox.
