LSU Coach Les Miles expressed plenty of optimism about the coming season during his talk at SEC Media Days in Hoover. The Mad Hatter says they fell short of the goals of making the playoffs and SEC Championship last season and he doesn’t want a repeat. On running back Leonard Fournette:

He's one of those guys who is a hard worker and he's a leader on our team

The media has picked LSU to finish third in the West, Alabama to win the West, but Auburn to win the overall SEC title.  Miles says The Bayou Bengals will have to start the season coming out strong as they face Louisiana rival McNeese State in Tiger Stadium, then travel to Mississippi State before hosting Auburn. When asked about the three suspended players, including Quarterback Anthony Jennings, Miles says he anticipates they will return:

Only because I know the information. This is not me, this is about what's going on in the legal process

Running back Derrius Guice collapsed at the football practice facility and Miles says they don’t know what the incoming freshman’s ailment is but he’s undergoing tests at a hospital in Baton Rouge. Miles says they expect to still use two quarterbacks, Jennings and Brandon Harris of Parkway in Bossier City and their play has improved:

There's been some things that we've done to kind of scripted and honed to make their skills and abilities more evident.

We'll have to wait until opening day of the season to see who will get the start. The Tigers start the season, Saturday September 5th against McNeese State.
