A 50-yard scoring run by LSU Tigers' #33 running back Jeremy Hill captured the attention of everyone in Tiger Stadium Saturday night.

Hill scored two touchdowns for LSU causing the South Carolina Gamecocks to suffer their first loss of the season and a 23-21 victory for the LSU Tigers.

LSU scored three fiels goals, the second field gold put the Tigers in the lead.

South Carolina QB Connor Shaw overthrew the ball to an open receiver that was intercepted by LSU's Eric Reid who carried it to the 22. Another drive to the 5 set the LSU Tigers up for their third field goal.

LSU QB Zach Mettenberger made several big throws to sustain scoring drives, finishing 21 of 25 for 148 yards. He threw one interception that was returned 70 yards by the Gamecocks' Jimmy Legree, setting up South Carolina's first TD.

LSU's Jeremy Hill said, "We didn't play like we were capable of playing last week against Florida. The entire offense knew that they had to step up and we made that a priority. At the end, it was a great release and we wanted to celebrate with the students who have supported us throughout the season."

LSU Coach Les Miles triumphantly said, "That was Death Valley, that was the place where opponents' dreams come to die — and it was spectacular."
