As first reported by KSLA, LSU Health and Sciences Chief Medical Officer, Senior Associate Dean, Professor of Surgery, and Director of the Regional Burn Center Dr. Kevin Sittig has been arrested in a Shreveport vice sting.

The arrest was reportedly part of a task-force operation at Hamel's Park in Shreveport on Wednesday. The 61-year-old Sittig is accused of approaching an undercover officer and exposing himself. Authorities say they believe Sittig's intent was to engage in sexual activities with the undercover agent.

Sittig was able to post his $750 bond after being taken into the Caddo Correction Center. He's been charged with criminal obscenity.

Authorities noted that Sittig not only approached the undercover agent, but had over $600 in cash on him when he was arrested. According to reports, Sittig claims that he never exposed himself, but was simply urinating at the park.

KSLA was able to obtain a statement from LSU Health Shreveport, which read:

“LSU Health Shreveport does not comment on personnel matters and therefore cannot deny or confirm accusations against Dr. Kevin Sittig”

According to LSU Health's website, Sittig is a member of the LSU Health Sciences Foundation Board of Directors, a member of the Advisory Board fro the Center of Excellence for Arthritis and Rheumatology Special Care Committee, and the Chairman of the LSU Health Sciences Center Medical Ethics Committee.
