LSU will retire the jersey of Bossier City native Todd Walker before the Tigers home game against Ole Miss, Friday, April 14. The LSU Hall of Fame Committee approved the retirement of Walker’s jersey by a unanimous vote last spring.

Walker, an Airline High School grad, will become the 11th LSU athlete or coach to have his number retired, and will be only the fourth from the school's baseball program, joinging Eddy Furniss, Skip Bertman and Ben McDonald.

Walker, who wore #12, was a two-time first-team All-American, leading the Tigers to the national championship in 1993, being named the tournament's outstanding player. He was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009 and played 12 seasons (1996-2007) in the major leagues for teams including the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox, hitting over .300 three times.
